McAfee Sales Kick-Off Event Details New Channel Changes
MARKHAM, ON – January 18, 2010 – McAfee, Inc. (NYSE:MFE) today announced the company is delivering on its 2010 channel vision and strategy to develop a consistent worldwide channel program that promotes a value-based, enabled, productive and profitable channel ecosystem. This announcement was made today before more than 1,500 partner attendees at the company’s first ever virtual partner sales kick-off event, in a keynote speech made by McAfee Senior Vice President of Worldwide Channel Operations, Alex Thurber. Last October during the McAfee Global Partner Day, Thurber announced the new overall channel vision which is now being implemented.
Partner Experience:
A major priority for the channel program is an ongoing focus on ensuring that partners are rewarded for the investments they make in their relationship with McAfee. As part of the McAfee SecurityAlliance Partner Program, partners have access to product information, resources, training, support and promotions. The purpose is to aid partners in achieving their professional goals with a focus on delivering across five key strategic imperatives: agility, brand, collaboration, differentiation and enablement.

Margin Advantage – McAfee Margin Advantage consists of a number of sales incentive programs that allow partners to predictably and consistently earn increased margin for specific value-add activities. These incentives reward partners’ investment in accredited sales and technical resources, as well as protect partners who drive new business.
Enablement Advantage – McAfee is investing significantly to develop productive and technically enabled partners. As part of this investment, McAfee is implementing a new enablement methodology called Ready, Set, Sell, as well as rolling out a deeper Sales and Technical accreditation program. Both of these will be available online for free for partners to leverage at their convenience.

Final Integration of Secure Computing – McAfee has also announced the details of the final phase of integration of Secure Computing partners into the McAfee SecurityAlliance Partner Program. McAfee expects to fold the “Secure Computing” partner type into the solution provider partner type with all existing partners being migrated into the Web and E-mail Security and/or Network Defense competency by May 1, 2010.
The final step in the acquisition integration process enables partners to align to how customers buy and allows the former Secure Computing product sales to benefit from margin advantage programs previously only available to McAfee branded products.
