TORONTO, October 3, 2012……The Team at Toronto’s L-EAT Catering has been selected to help the Tanbark Club at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair bring back the glamour of yesteryear, with some thoroughly modern cuisine.
Acclaimed caterer Tony Loschiavo, who also owns the two Toronto Paese Ristorantes and L-EAT Express and noted Executive Chef Chris Palik have a well-earned reputation for using fresh, locally sourced ingredients to produce upscale, contemporary cuisine with a unique twist.
In celebration of the Royal’s 90th anniversary, Tanbark Club organizers contracted Loschiavo to add his champagne touch to the largest combined indoor agricultural fair and international equestrian competition in the world at the Royal Court Restaurant located in Heritage Court.
For the duration of this milestone Fair, the L-EAT team will serve elegant food (MENU attached) with black-tie style at this one-of-a-kind temporary venue. Well-dressed diners will disappear behind hedges craftily used by event organizer Jeff Roick to make the restaurant’s centre court location private in despite it being in the thick of the action. There will also be a Buffet menu.
Custom-made champagne carts will greet diners the moment they’re seated, where they’ll start their evening sipping the finest Roederer bubbly. It’s a touch inspired by Loschiavo’s sommelier background.
“Years ago, I worked at the Skyline Hotel’s Alfredo Restaurant as a fine dining waiter where we made Caesar Salads tableside, even cracking the eggs for the dressing. It’s a service standard restaurant patrons don’t often see.
“We’re very excited about bringing that same level of grandeur to the Royal,” he says.
Exceptional food and the pinnacle of service will be joined by an extensive wine list and the finest spirits. “This is not your average bar rail,” Loschiavo adds.
The 200-seat Royal Court Restaurant is open for lunch and dinner for the duration of the Fair between November 2-10, 2012 – and then it’s gone!
